Second Place

Previous chapter

On May 6, 2000, Saturday, at Marymore Park in Redmond, Washington, I entered my second official ASFA Lure Coursing event.  This one was also sponsored by W.R.A.G.  I got second place.  After the preliminary run, I was in third place, but moved up to second after the final round.  There were 10 dogs in my stake.

In the preliminary round, I ran with Stella (STELLA!).

Why did Dad make me wear the silly muzzle?
Anyway, check out the nifty racing jacket Mom made!

In the final round, I ran with Tori and Stella (STELLA!).  This was Stella's first race and she came in 4th.  Nice job, Stella!

I now have 70 points and one 1st place and one 2nd place win.  I need 30 more points and another 1st or 2nd place win to become a Field Champion.

The judges were David Hayek from Seattle, WA, and Vern Staack from Spokane, WA.  (David Kingery was scheduled but moved to California and the club didn't want to pay to fly him up.)
